This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the presence of mind to remember to walk with my baby and watch the sunset. It’s ironic that this day of being grateful gets so caught up in want and desire as we move into Christmas. I find myself getting muddled by those wants and then I am reminded of a walk with Meredith at sunset. Being thankful is about being at peace and not wanting more and more. As a people, we need more thankfulness and less want.
I haven’t been walking as much as I used to. Teton’s knees have gone bad. My little out-go girl has turned four and is more interested in watching TV than the geese on the pond. I could make some resolution of taking more sunset walks, but I don’t think it’s realistic. I think I just need more thankfulness for the walks I do take.

Just after posting this message, I realized my wife posted the same photos, except here commentary is slightly different…
Excuse me. I’m off to enjoy the sunrise.
