We’ll catch the sun - my sweet daughter
As it spreads gold on the water
We’ll watch trees spread their shadows
We’ll chase dragonflies and count the swallows
We’ll run downhill and up again
We’ll twirl our arms and spin
We’ll catch the sun - my sweet daughter
As it writes another golden day to water
When the moment is nearly perfect
When all is growing still and quiet
We’ll shout our joy to the wind
We’ll fill our lungs and shout again
Tim - is that your poem? My, that is truly lovely.

Yes it is. Thank you Cathy so much for your kind comment. It’s funny too, I was just sort of bored and had no ideas on a poem and I start free-stream prose writing but I couldn’t get anything to hang together coherantly. So then I took another approach and started with simple rhymes and then simple words to get at the same idea I was trying to write down in prose - which was that we had a great day - and I like the result too.
