Meredith Elizabeth, 7lbs 15ozs, was born this morning at 4:50 am after a relatively brief but heroic labor of my lovely wife. Both are doing just fine and we are very happy.
I forgot my camera so I took these pictures with my cell phone. I was really glad to just be in the moment - the same as I was when Sylvia was born.
Still waiting. This baby is certainly taking its sweet time. My wife thinks that sending Sylvia off to the cousins relaxed her so much that it stopped the contractions.
I went to my fencing lesson after getting the green light from my hand surgeon. We finally figured out that my problem comes from bursitis in the wrist. Not completely sure on how to treat but he says as long as I don’t overdo it, I should be fine. I have my sights on the tournaments in the New England, Connecticut and Northeast divisions. Too bad Fred doesn’t let me multiselect in searches. Too bad the Northeast doesn’t use Fred.
We had a false alarm yesterday and sent little Sylvia off to the cousin’s prematurely. Since then, we’ve been guiltily enjoying our “Family Away Time,” as my sister calls it. It’s so quiet in a house with no three-year-old.
Guilty - but not that guilty. It sounds like Sylvia is having a lot of fun. She’s going to the beach this afternoon with the cousins. This morning, she got to meet the Congregation of West Parish and I was touched to learn that they said a little prayer for us in their service. Maybe that will help things get moving.
Meanwhile, between long walks, I’ll keep the blog current with the latest news.
